Aulik completes the Pine Lake Boathouse

I'm pleased to announce our new gallary on the website: The Pine Lake Boathouse.  This project is a culmination of nearly two decades of experience with troubled, riparian, properties.  This project was unique in so many ways and it really challenged us in all phases of construciton: planning , design, and build.

A Long Time Coming...

Aulik Design Group has been designing homes and lake homes in Wisconsin for the better part of twenty years.  It wasn't until recently that we pulled our builder's license and began building our own designs.  We have designed other boathouses and lake homes in the area and we have developed a unique expertise when it comes to waterfront properties.  Now that we're building in Wisconsin, the process is even more seamless, and this project is a solid demonstration of that.

On Your Marks...

Pre-purchase evaluations and schematic design are all part of our process.  We take the time to look at a lot, or an existing home, and tell you what can be done, what cannot be done, and how we would do it.  It's all part of an honest, straight-forward, sales approach.  The Pine Lake Boathouse is a great example of how our design staff works with the home owner and governing bodies to produce a plan for construction that: conforms with all applicable setbacks and easements, reduces our impact on the environment during construction, creates a building that looks as though it’s been there the entire time, while still meeting the customer's budget and needs.

In this case, the boathouse was almost sitting in the water, nearly ready to collapse, as the photos will show.  Not only was the existing structure non-conforming, it was not long for this world.

Get Set...

This isn't our first rodeo with property planning and environmental preservation.  Aulik has worked closely with the West Wisconsin Land Trust in developing a set of covenants on a newly acquired property that greatly reduced human impact on the lake.  We also had a hand in developing a lake management plan for that very same lake that we can proudly say today has accomplished nearly every goal it set forth.  We believe in stewardship, honest and true, and it has ever been our philosophy to leave it better than we found it.  With that in mind, we engaged the Chippewa County, as well as the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources to apply for and win a variance to...

GO!

Slide the top half of the building on the ground, move the foundation back and up two feet, and put it all together again.
